Burra Voe is a bay ( Voe ) in the north of Mainland , the main island of about Scotland scoring Shetlands . The landside part belongs to the North Roe Peninsula and is in the area of ​​the Community Council Area Northmavine . The town of North Roe stretches along the north and west banks and there is also a small landing stage .

Burra Voe is almost square in shape, its dimensions are around 800 by 800 meters. The three landward corners are rounded by pebble beaches ( ayres ), which have developed into spits . Behind them are the lagoons in the north of Loch of Beith , west of the hole of the North Haa . In the south behind it is the estuary of the Burn of Housetter. The fourth corner in the east opens with a width of 600 meters to the Yell Sound , which is assigned to the North Sea . Two other small islands lie immediately to the northeast, they are called South Holm of Burravoe and North Holm of Burravoe . The bay is bounded by two peninsulas: Ness of Houlland in the south and Ness of Burravoe in the east.
