Burtis Island is an island off the Bakutis coast of Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It is located 16 km east of Cape Dart from Siple Island .

The United States Geological Survey mapped them using the United States Navy's own surveys and aerial photographs from 1962 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1966 after William J. Burtis, ionospheric physicist at Byrd Station in 1965.
