The Butler Summit is a 1000 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises on the western foothills of the Dais in the Wright Valley .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2004 after Rhett G. Butler of the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), manager of the Global Seismograph Network program and observer of the United States Antarctic Program during the establishment of the jointly with the United States Geological Survey operated seismological observatory at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station .
