Bwalya Stanley Kasonde Chiti (born April 11, 1954 in Kabwe ) is a Zambian diplomat and politician .

Life

He studied at the University of Zambia , where he obtained a bachelor's degree in law in 1977 . He worked in the Legal Aid Department and for the Attorney General. In 1978 he was admitted to the bar and worked for the law firm Cave Malik and Company, particularly in the areas of commercial and family law. In 1980 he moved to the insurance company Zambia State Insurance Corporation and was mainly involved in pension administration, risk management and corporate governance issues. He held this position until 1987. From 1981 he was also admitted to the Zambian Supreme Court . In 1987 he joined the National Import and Export Corporation and gained experience in trade and sales management.

In 1993 he founded the partnership Chiti and Partners as a lawyer . At the same time he founded and developed companies and projects in the areas of tourism, communication, insurance and financial services, quarries and material supply, among others. He is chairman or director in various companies.

For the constituency of Mpika , he entered the National Assembly of Zambia in 2003 for the social democratic Movement for Multi-Party Democracy . He also became a member of the Pan-African Parliament .

In March 2012 he became the Zambian ambassador to Germany . Additional accreditations were granted for Bosnia and Herzegovina , Croatia , North Macedonia , Austria , Poland , Slovakia , Slovenia , the Czech Republic , Turkey and Hungary .

Bwalya Stanley Kasonde Chiti is married and has six children.
