Byälven (literally "village river") is a river in Sweden . It emerges from the Glafsfjorden and flows into the Vänern after around 40 kilometers . In Säffle , the Byälven was made navigable by the Säffle Canal, inaugurated in 1837 . This created a continuous waterway into the Atlantic.
