The Byvågåsane (Norwegian for city bay summit ) consist of three low mountains arranged side by side on the Prince Harald Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They rise up on the east bank of Byvågen Bay on the east side of Lützow-Holm Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who named them based on the name of the upstream bay, mapped them using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
