Cédric Van der Elst (born June 19, 1980 in Genk ) is a former Belgian football player .
Career
Van der Elst began his career with FC Winterslag and in 1988 joined the successor club KRC Genk, where he was appointed to the Eerste-Klasse squad for the 1999/2000 season . But after he didn't really get a chance at Genk, he moved to the Netherlands for the 2001/2002 season for MVV Maastricht . However, he stayed in Maastricht for only one year and returned to Belgium in June 2002. So he signed a contract with KVV Heusden-Zolder in the Tweeden class and rose to the first class with the club in 2003 . After he came to only four appearances in the highest Belgian league for Heusden-Zolder, he moved to KSK Tongeren. In his three years at Tongres, he came to 95 games and scored ten goals. In the summer of 2008 he switched to Eendracht Termien, where he has been playing with his former Genk club mate Stefan Teelen since 2010. In 2015 he ended his active career here.
