Macquarie European Rail

CBrail Ltd is a leasing company for rail vehicles of the Australian Macquarie Bank , based in London . The company was founded in 2012 to take over rail vehicles from Lloyds Bank , which until December 2012 were held by CB Rail , among others .

CB Rail was founded in 2004 and took over Porterbrook Leasing Company (Euro) Limited (PLCEL) , that is, Porterbrook's activities on the European continent. Lloyds Bank then took over the shares in the former HBOS and the insolvent investment company Babcock & Brown . In 2010 the subsidiaries in Luxembourg and Germany were renamed Ascendos Rail Leasing and separated; Ascendos operates today as an independent company with new shareholders.

At the end of 2012, Macquarie took over the remaining portfolio of CB Rail. In addition, the Stansted Express fleet and a number of freight vehicles in the UK (including some EMD JT42CWR (Class 66) , Class 70s and Wagons) were acquired from Lloyds.

Portfolio

The original portfolio consisted of 28 diesel and electric locomotives and 67 multiple units. Macquarie Rail is the owner and operator. a. the trains used by Transdev GmbH in the HarzElbeExpress (HEX) and the trains to be used by Abellio Rail NRW from December 2007 on the Ruhr-Sieg route .
