CD98 (synonymous SLC3A2, 4F2 cell-surface antigen heavy chain ) is a surface protein from the group of transport proteins .
properties
CD98 is produced by all cell types . It is a heterodimer of the two proteins SLC3A2 and SLC7A5 . It is involved in the transport of some amino acids such as phenylalanine , tyrosine , leucine , isoleucine , valine , arginine and tryptophan through the cell membrane . It binds to SLC7A6 and SLC7A7 . CD98 is glycosylated and phosphorylated .
