CK-knowledge ( C luster- K opfschmerz knowledge) is a German-language Wikipedia projects with information about the disease cluster headache . Cluster headache ( cluster English "group, accumulation") is a primary headache disorder , which manifests itself in strictly unilateral and extremely severe pain in the area of ​​the temple and eye, occurring in attacks. The term “cluster” refers to the peculiarity of this form of headache, which occurs periodically with a strong accumulation, while symptom-free intervals can follow for months to years.

CK-Wissen uses the MediaWiki software, has been online since August 2005 and contains 328 article pages (as of December 2015). CK-Wissen is independent, non-commercial and free of advertising. The article pages are created and maintained by patients and other authors on a non-profit and voluntary basis. Anyone interested can participate. The project is financed privately by cluster headache sufferers, there are no sponsors.

In the Orphanet database for rare diseases , CK-Wissen is listed as a patient organization with a focus on cluster headache, paroxysmal hemicrania and SUNCT syndrome . In the guidelines for diagnostics and therapy in neurology of the German Society for Neurology , CK knowledge is named under “ self-help groups ”. In December 2014, CK-Wissen was mentioned as one of three examples of self-help work on the Internet in a brochure of the National Contact and Information Center for the Stimulation and Support of Self-Help Groups (NAKOS) .
