CORALIE spectrograph

The CORALIE spectrograph is an echelle spectrograph in the field of astronomy . The scientific instrument is used together with a telescope to measure star spectra in order to discover extrasolar planets by means of the Doppler effect using the radial velocity method.

It was installed at the Leonhard Euler Telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile as part of the Southern Sky extrasolar planet search program .

The ELODIE spectrograph was the counterpart of the Northern Extrasolar Planet Search program.

The spectral resolution of CORALIE is with a combination of 3 pixels each . The CCD detector thereby has 2000 × 2000 pixels with a pixel size of 15 μ m . ${\ displaystyle R = {\ lambda \ over \ Delta \ lambda} = 50000}$
