The Club des patineurs lyonnais was a French ice hockey team from Lyon .

history

The Club des patineurs lyonnais was founded in 1953. Before that, at the beginning of the century there was another successful ice hockey club from the city, the Sporting Club de Lyon . The Club des patineurs lyonnais won the French championship title in the 1955/56 season . Although the team continued to play top-notch on a regular basis in the following years, they could no longer build on this success and from the 1980s onwards played predominantly lower class. In 1997 the club went bankrupt, after which the Lyon Hockey Club was founded as a successor club.
