CS-23

The CS-23 (short for Certification Specifications 23 ) is for light airplanes applicable construction and approval regulations , issued by the EASA . It is applicable to:

  • Aircraft in the categories normal, utility or aerobatic with a maximum of 9 seats (without pilot (s)) and a maximum take-off weight of 5,670 kg (12,500 lbs)
  • Aircraft in the commuter category with a maximum of 19 seats (without pilot (s)) and a maximum take-off weight of 8,618 kg (19,000 lbs)

Depending on the selected category, the CS-23 provides several maneuvers (CS 23.3).

  • Normal category: normal flight, no aerobatics; Stalls as well as Chandelles , Lazy Eights and banked curves with a maximum of 60 ° bank
  • Utility category: like normal category, but with cross slopes up to 90 °; additional spin , if permitted by the manufacturer
  • Aerobatic category: no restrictions on the part of the approval regulations
  • Commuter category: normal flight, stalls and banked turns with bank angles of up to 60 °

Aircraft that are not approved in the commuter category can be approved for multiple categories.
