CS-29

The CS-29 (short for Certification Specifications 29) is for large helicopters ( Engl. "Large Rotorcraft") from 3,175 kg applicable construction and approval requirements issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The CS-29 is basically divided into two categories:

Category A
Helicopters with a maximum weight greater than 9072 kilograms (20,000 pounds ) and ten or more passengers are permitted in this category.
Category B
Helicopters with a maximum weight of 9072 kilograms (20,000 pounds) or less and nine or fewer passengers are permitted in this category.

The Sikorsky S-92 (Category A) or the Airbus H175 (Category B) , for example, were certified according to this approval regulation .
