The CSD Ingenieure AG , formerly CSD Colombi Dorthe dirt , is a Swiss engineering company with an international presence. The CSD Group (CSD Holding SA) has 30 locations in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Lithuania. The company offers engineering services in the fields of nature and the environment, stone and earth, road and rail, buildings and areas, as well as water and energy. The group's central services (CSD Management SA) are located in Givisiez near Friborg (in Switzerland). The company is a member of the SIA ( Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects ) and the USIC (Swiss Association of Consulting Engineering Companies )
history
It was founded in 1970 by the geologist Carlo Colombi, the civil engineer Bernard Schmutz and the geologist Jean-Pierre Dorthe. The three initials of the family names give the company its name. In the year it was founded, CSD opens branches in the cantons of Bern and Friborg. By 1975 branches were added in the cantons of Aargau and Vaud.
At the beginning of the 1980s, CSD did pioneering work with the first environmental impact reports, controlled landfills and wastewater treatment systems. In 1981 the company opened a branch in the canton of Baselland and in 1987 branches in Germany, in the cantons of Valais and Lucerne, and in 1989 in the Jura. Already in these early years CSD engineers were active on 4 continents.
In the 1990s, CSD opened branches in France, Belgium and in the cantons of Geneva, Zurich, Ticino, Uri, St. Gallen, Thurgau and Graubünden. With its services in the remediation of contaminated sites, CSD has become a reference across Europe. The expansion of activities in geo, natural and environmental sciences is progressing in these years.
The Infrastructure and Buildings business area was created in 2000. In Belgium, CSD becomes a leader in the planning and support of wind turbines. The areas of "sustainable building" and "renewable energies" are being expanded rapidly. Thermal waste plants and the dismantling of decommissioned industrial plants are also added as new competencies.
CSD has been developing the energy sector since 2010. In 2015, the CSD Group strengthened itself in the construction sector in German-speaking Switzerland with Henauer Gugler AG and WMM Ingenieure AG, in Valais with Pellissier & de Torrenté SA, in Brugg and in the wastewater sector with Balz & Partner AG and in Belgium in the environmental sector and in the Brussels region with Aster Consulting AG.
