Clube Sportivo Mindelense ( CS Mindelense for short ) is a Cape Verdean sports club from the city of Mindelo , on the island of São Vicente .
The club is best known for its soccer department, but also has departments for basketball, volleyball and athletics.
history
The association was founded in 1919 and registered on May 25, 1922 in the register of associations of the then Portuguese colony Cape Verde.
The club became the official Cape Verdean champions for the first time in 1956, after winning a number of previous championships in Cape Verde. By the time the country gained independence in 1975, he won the title six times. Since independence and the introduction of today's national championship, the Campeonato Cabo-verdiano de Futebol , the club has been able to celebrate the championship title and once the cup victory a further twelve times. In the regional competition, the São Vicente Island League , there are a total of 49 championships (as of 2017) .
Stadion
The professional football team of CS Mindelense plays its home games in the city's Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena . The stadium has an artificial turf pitch and can accommodate 5,000 spectators.
