CULTURA award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The CULTURA Prize has been awarded by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation FVS since 2008 "for innovative and exemplary work approaches in the fields of nature conservation , agriculture and forestry as well as the related sciences" and is endowed with 25,000 euros .

background

Since 2008, on the basis of a realignment, the foundation has been awarding a joint prize for scientific work on “future-oriented land use”, which previously received individual awards. The achievements for which the prize is awarded should not date back more than 5 years at the time of the award.

In the context of this award, “future-oriented land use” means land use that does justice to the future demands of society as well as future developments in ecosystems as far as possible. Research work that goes far beyond the boundaries of its own specialist discipline and its own political sector is therefore honored. From year to year, the technical focus of the award can be on one of the three forms of land use mentioned; In the ideal case, however, the work of the award winner should not be exclusively attributable to any traditional form of land use.
