The Cabadbaran-Santiago Watershed Forest Reserve is a water and nature reserve on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines . It covers an area of ​​16,025 hectares and is on the border of the provinces of Agusan del Norte , Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur . It is the main source of water supply for the municipalities of Cabadbaran and Santiago and was established by Presidential Decree No. 834 on November 13, 1991.

The Cabadbaran-Santiago Watershed Forest Reserve extends from the lowlands to the regions of the Diwata Mountains on the northern flank of the Hilong Hilong . It covers altitudes from 200 to 1,700 meters above sea level. The forest cover covers an area of ​​approx. 13,146 hectares, this includes 200 hectares of rattan palm trees. Bush land interspersed with low trees extends to approximately 1,283.26 hectares and approximately 318 hectares are covered by grassland. Agriculturally used areas take up approx. 1,077,000 hectares. Mainly cereals and the fast growing Gmelina arborea ( Yemane ) are planted.

The protected area is the headwaters of the Cabadbaran and Narog rivers, and the Tumipi, Pamulanganan, Saypon, Damasigan, Subayon, Sigupanon, Kalupsagan, Landulan, Kalasonon, Dacnalay and Hamindangan streams have their source here.

The reserve is home to the Philippine deer , wild boars , the crab-eating macaque , various species of bats and the Philippines glider . In terms of birds, stocks of the red-headed heron , the Philippines eagle and the kingfisher are known. Various species of turtles and the reticulated python are also found in the Cabadbaran-Santiago Watershed Forest Reserve. Various species of snakehead fish such as the haluan and ulang live in the rivers .
