history

The former savings and loan association Heist eG was founded with unlimited liability on May 13, 1914. The first chairman was the pensioner Johannes Assmußen; his representative was the tape breaker Heinrich Nagel. The musician Johann Köster took over the management as the first rendant (managing director). In his house on Hauptstrasse. 29 were the business premises.

In 1976 the banks merged into Heist and Holm and the Raiffeisenbank Heist-Holm eG was created. Heinz Holst and Heinz Reiken from Holm were on the board of directors of the newly created bank.

Since the merger of the banks in Haseldorf - which also included the Hetlingen branch - and Heist in 1992, the company has been called Raiffeisenbank Elbmarsch eG. Full-time board members at that time were Walter Rieken, Heinz Reiken, Heinz Holst and Bernd Jensen.
