Michael Rory Zaher (born September 24, 1985 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American football player.

Career

Youth and college

Zaher attended Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada . With the school team, he won the 2002 Nevada High School State Championship. In total, he scored 78 goals during his school days. He also played for Las Vegas Premier, with whom he won the Nevada State Championships seven times.

Zaher played from 2004 to 2007 for the football team of the UCLA Bruins . During this time he also played for the Boulder Rapids Reserve and the San Fernando Valley Quakes in the USL Premier Development League .

Major League Soccer

Zaher was selected by Toronto FC in the 2008 MLS Superdraft. A little later, DC United took over the rights to the defender and Zaher became part of the Development Roster's on April 17, 2008. On July 19, 2008 he made his professional debut when he came on for Bryan Namoff at halftime in the Super League game against Houston Dynamo. He played his first MLS game on August 20, 2008 against New England Revolution.

On March 16, 2009, he signed a development contract with the San Jose Earthquakes . He played ten games in the 2009 season for the Californians, but was released in late 2009.

Charleston Battery

On March 23, 2010, he moved to Charleston Battery in the USL Second Division .
