The Cabane de Saleinaz (also Cabane de Saleina , German Saleinazhütte / Saleinahütte ) was built in 1893. The hut is owned by the Neuchâteloise section of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). It is the starting point for high-altitude tours in the Swiss part of the Mont Blanc massif .
history
A second hut was added to the hut in 1903. The second hut had the same dimensions and was about 8 meters apart with the first hut facade against facade. The two huts were connected as early as 1905, after which it had 60 places.
The hut was given its current form with an additional storey in 1997 through a new building based on a plan by the architects Widmer / de Montmollin.
Accesses
In summer the hut from Praz de Fort can be reached in 4 to 5 hours. In winter it can only be reached via the Chardonnet , Planereuse, Plines or via the Fenêtre de Saleina.
