DivertiMento is a Swiss cabaret duo that presents many cabaret elements, from stand-up comedy to satirical song, from situational farce to narrated joke. Facial expressions , languages, word games, music and singing play a major role.

Occupation and naming

  • Manuel Burkart (born November 1, 1977), lives in the Zurich Oberland
  • Jonny Fischer (born December 3, 1979), lives in Zug
  • Divertimento (Italian): amusement, amusement, fun and enjoyment
  • Mento (ad Greek): mind, sense and understanding

While Manuel Burkart performs the entertaining, clownish 'Diverti' part with the help of grimaces, pantomime and his extreme agility, Jonny Fischer takes on the confident, well-considered 'Mento' part due to his quick-wittedness and eloquence.

Artistic career

Jonny Fischer and Manuel Burkart met in the boarding school in 2000 during their teacher training in the music hall at the St. Michael Catholic seminary in Zug . Manuel practiced the piano and singing more often there and Jonny spontaneously began to sing along and joke around.

Jonny Fischer enjoyed classical singing training and demonstrated it in various choirs. Manuel Burkart expanded his facial expressions and gestures through additional training in pantomime. Manuel also played as a guitarist in a heavy metal band. He occasionally has guest appearances with the Swiss hard rock band Tempesta and appears on their new single Drag You Down as the divertimento figure Julian Kaufmann . Jonny and Manuel first performed solo at the regularly held Semi Music Nights at the seminar, and later together with the number Guitar Lessons .

In 2002 'DivertiMento' premiered with kultimulturell in the Rathausschür in Baar . A year later, the duo was discovered by the artist agent Claus Scherer during a performance in Uster . They performed semi-professionally while they were still teaching. In 2006 they quit teaching in order to devote themselves fully to their second stage program zuvieliSation as part of a tour of Switzerland. Swiss television broadcast a 60-minute excerpt from it. They then got a guest role in Marco Rima's film Handyman .

In 2008 they worked out a third Plan B program for the first time with co-author René Tanner . The première was in November 2008 at the casino in the city of Zug. In December of the same year an appearance at the Arosa Humor Festival with TV recording followed. In 2009 the management changed to Keep Cool Production , where DivertiMento have since been under the care of co-authors René Tanner and Marco Schneider.
