Swiss Comedy Award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Swiss Comedy Awards (until 2017: Swiss Comedy Award) is the name of a comedy competition that has been held annually in Switzerland since 1999 . Up until 2016, the awards were given as part of a newcomer competition; there have been additional categories since 2017. The main aim of the competition is still to promote young talent in the comedy sector.

Alignment

Young artists are given the opportunity to present themselves to a large audience under professional conditions. The winning prize consists of professional involvement in a comedy festival in Switzerland.

The competition is open to all newcomers up to the age of 40 with their own numbers. The application is made with two contributions of a maximum of six minutes. A jury of experts selects the four to six best acts for the final from the applications received. At the finale, all artists appear first with their first number, during the break there is an interim evaluation and for the second round, the best can go on stage again with their second contribution.
