Joël Aramis von Mutzenbecher (born February 1, 1988 in Basel ) is a Swiss comedian , organizer , TV and radio presenter and actor . Von Mutzenbecher is known for his kind of English-American style stand-up comedy . He plays mainly in Switzerland , Austria and Germany, for example in the Quatsch Comedy Club in Hamburg and Berlin .

Life

In 2004, at the age of 16, von Mutzenbecher began working as a presenter and editor on the youth program Mash TV (now Mash ) for the local broadcaster Telebasel . There he presented his own Joey on Tour section , in which he produced one of the first Swiss viral hits. After leaving the high school on Münsterplatz two years later without a degree, von Mutzenbecher worked for various media companies such as Radio Basilisk , VIVA Switzerland or SRF Virus as an intern or as a freelancer. He received his first acting assignments, for example, at the Häbse Theater in Basel or at the SRF school soap Best Friends .

In the summer of 2010, von Mutzenbecher quit his moderator job at Mash TV and from autumn presented his first stage show Primetime Show with Joël von Mutzenbecher at the Häbse-Theater every month , which was also broadcast on Telebasel. The structure of the show was a classic late night show . The show's fixed sidekick was DJ Johny Holiday from the hip-hop band Brandhärd , guests were well-known personalities such as Marco Rima , Beni Thurnheer , Christa Rigozzi , Viktor Giacobbo , Carlos Leal and his father Heinz Margot .

Due to the growing popularity of the show, von Mutzenbecher was hired for various acting and moderation jobs. Among other things, he played in the movie 20 Rules for Sylvie and moderated various radio and TV programs for the stations Energy Basel , ProSieben Switzerland and SRF Zwei .

After 18 issues, von Mutzenbecher announced the end of the primetime show in spring 2013 (the show was reactivated in December 2016 for a one-time donation special) and at the same time the start of his career as a solo artist.

On November 1, 2013, von Mutzenbecher's first comedy solo program Multitalentfrei premiered at the Häbse Theater, which received good reviews from the local press. Manuel Weingartner directed. The second solo program Wienerlipromi followed in 2015 - again directed by Manuel Weingartner. This program gave him his first comedy TV appearances in Switzerland, for example in the late night show Giacobbo / Müller or the comedy show Comedy aus dem Labor . With sequences from it he won the audience award of the Swiss Comedy Award 2015.

Two years later, on November 3, 2017, the premiere of Mutzenbecher's third solo program was Halbidiot , on which he worked for the first time without a director. Again the premiere took place in the Basler Häbse-Theater. On the following tour, von Mutzenbecher also had support acts such as Nico Arn, Frank Richter or Cenk Korkmaz appear in his shows for the first time. With the program, he was nominated twice for the Swiss Comedy Award in 2018.

His fourth solo program Feel Good Comedian was released in autumn 2019 . Cenk Korkmaz was a permanent support act on the tour.

At the beginning of 2020 von Mutzenbecher announced that he and again Cenk Korkmaz would be the support act in autumn with the fifth solo program Stand Uf! would go on tour.

After von Mutzenbecher had made a few appearances in Germany, he won the Quatsch Talentschmiede Prize of Honor in the Quatsch Comedy Club in the summer of 2017 . This was followed by first appearances in the regular Club Show and in various German TV programs such as Quatsch Comedy Club ( Sky 1 ), Die Comedy Show ( ProSieben ) or Der RTL Comedy Grand Prix .
