Carlos Leal (born July 9, 1969 in Lausanne ) is a Swiss actor and rapper .

biography

Leal was born to Spanish immigrants. He grew up in the Lausanne suburb of Renens and completed an apprenticeship as a civil engineering draftsman. In 1990 he founded the hip-hop group Sens Unik with music producer Just One and other friends , which soon established itself internationally. During the following ten years Sens Unik won the gold record four times and contributed the theme music to the film Neutre .

After his first small film roles, Leal left Sens Unik in 2005 to take acting classes in Paris. He played the main male role in the love drama Snow White and received several awards for it. Leal subsequently received supporting roles in major international productions such as the 21st James Bond film Casino Royale (2006).

In 2008 Leal moved with his family to Madrid, and two more years later to Los Angeles . He got a bigger role in the Spanish television series El Internado and thus achieved a higher level of awareness in Spain than in France and Switzerland. He played a supporting role in the movie Broken Hugs . Leal briefly returned to Switzerland for Verso and Sennentuntschi .

Since 2011 he has been advertising for the Swiss telecommunications company UPC Cablecom. At the beginning of February 2012, the commercial showing him how he can withstand the speed of the internet connection in the wind tunnel was chosen as campaign of the year. In 2013 he appeared in the Swiss comedy Who Killed Johnny ( Yangzom Brauen ) with Melanie Winiger and Max Loong .

Since January 2014, Leal can be seen alongside Mike Müller in the series The Undertaker .

He recently appeared in a role in the new series Devious Maids - dirty secrets , which started in German-speaking countries in April 2014.

Personal

Leal is married to the Belgian actress Jo Kelly, they have a son (* 2008) and a daughter (* January 17, 2016). Leal also made the short films Dawn , Elvis & Angel and The Art of Kissing with Jo Kelly under the name Les Danseurs Sénégalais .
