Giacobbo / Müller - with the subtitle Late service public - was a late night show and satirical broadcast by Viktor Giacobbo and Mike Müller . From the first broadcast on January 27, 2008 to the last episode on December 11, 2016, it was broadcast weekly on Sunday evenings at around 10 p.m. on SRF 1 and lasted around 40 minutes.

The show was a kind of successor to Viktor's program or Viktor's late program , which was shown on Swiss television from 1990 to 2002 . In January 2016 it was announced that the show will be produced and broadcast until the end of 2016.

content

The show was presented as a current satirical weekly review, with a focus on political issues. The two moderators commented on faded-in press clippings and short films were played in which the moderators slip into different roles. In the second half of the program, at least two guests were always invited: first one (or a group) from the cabaret scene showing a short performance, and in the final part a guest from Swiss politics .

Regular guests

Until February 2009, the English actor and musician Peter Tate was always there, who gave a musical performance in the middle of the program (as Peter Tate and himself ) and at the end presented a short summary of the program in English. In between, Peter Tate was a kind of sidekick target of taunts (mostly by Viktor Giacobbo), or he interfered on his own - with a question, for example - in the dialogues between Giacobbo and Müller (and any guests). Also on the final broadcast on December 11, 2016, Tate gave his comment again on the broadcast deadline. Tate's successor was the German organist Buddy Casino for almost a year . From January 31, 2010 to June 3, 2012, the Swiss musician Irene Brügger-Hodel played as the “one-woman orchestra” Frölein da Capo . From October 2012 bassist Daniel Ziegler took over the musical design.

Frequent actors in recordings were the imitators David Bröckelmann , Michael Elsener and Fabian Unteregger . Other guests who have been invited to broadcasts are the cabaret artists Andreas Thiel and Stefan Heuss , who entertain the audience with his curious inventions.

recording

Giacobbo / Müller was recorded in front of a live audience in the ballroom of the Kaufleuten restaurant in Zurich on Sunday evening at 7.30 p.m. - around two and a half hours before the broadcast .

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Arosa Humor Festival , the 120th edition was produced on December 18, 2011 as a good 80-minute special broadcast in the tent at the Arosa Tschuggenhütte .

On Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, another special broadcast was broadcast, which was recorded two days earlier (Good Friday, March 29th) in Winterthur, at Circus Knie .

Follow-up broadcast

In order to define a follow-up program, SRF started a selection process with three new comedy broadcast formats, including “Müslüm Television”, “Headhunter” and “ Deville Late Night ”, each of which broadcast a season of four episodes on Friday evening. On November 17, 2016, SRF confirmed that “Deville Late Night” will be the successor to “Giacobbo / Müller”. The new transmission time is 35 minutes.
