Caio Canedo Corrêa , called Caio (born August 9, 1990 in Volta Redonda , Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

Caio's career started in 2007 in youth with Volta Redonda FC . In the following two seasons there were loan changes to the junior division of two larger Brazilian clubs, São Paulo and Botafogo FR . After returning to Volta Redonda, he was promoted to the first team, but did not play a league game. As a result, another loan to Botafogo followed. In the following season he was taken under contract. For Botafogo, the Brazilian made 55 appearances in the A series and scored two goals. Caio was loaned out again in the 2012 season: this time to Figueirense FC . There he finally achieved his breakthrough as a professional with nine goals in 26 games.

Because of these performances, SC Internacional signed the striker. But in his twenty league games he could not score a goal for his employer. Therefore, the striker was loaned to EC Vitória for the 2014 season. This was followed in 2014 by a loan to al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates . After a strong debut season with 16 goals in 22 games, he was firmly signed.
