Cairo International Bank (CIB) is a bank in Kampala , Uganda and is a bank approved by the Central Bank of Uganda .
The bank was founded in 1995 as a joint venture between Banque du Caire and Kato Aromatics . Further partners joined the group, so that the shares are currently divided between:
- Banque du Caire (44.4 percent stake)
- Bank of Alexandria
- National Bank of Egypt
- Banque Misr
- Kato Aromatics SAE
In particular, Kato Aromatics and its owner Dr. Ibrahim Kamel have made some investments in Uganda.
