Banque du Caire (BdC) or Bank of Cairo is a universal bank in Cairo in Egyptian state-owned with offices abroad: Abu Dhabi , Dubai , Sharjah and Ras al-Khaimah ( United Arab Emirates ), Manama ( Bahrain ), as well as offices in Kiev ( Ukraine ) and Harare ( Zimbabwe ). There are also connections to Saudi Arabia and Uganda .

The bank is active as an investor in numerous sectors; for example, it owns 20 percent of Air Cairo and 21.8 percent of United Bank of Egypt . In Uganda, the bank holds 44.4 percent of Cairo International Bank .

Due to legal provisions in Egypt, which regulate the number of participations of banks (Law 159/1981), the bank separated from many participations until 2011. In 2006, for example, it gave up its 80 percent stake in Suez Steel . Investments in other companies were transferred in particular to Misr Investment Company and Egypt-Abu Dhabi Real Estate Investment in 2009.

In terms of the number of customers (1.9 million) and its involvement in numerous industries, the bank is the third largest bank in Egypt.
