Caitlin McClatchey (born November 28, 1985 in Portsmouth , England ) is a British swimmer who specializes in freestyle. She started at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and was part of the British squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .

In 2004 McClatchey was British champion in the 200 and 400 meters freestyle, in 2008 over the 100 meters. On June 19, 2005, she set a new British record for the 400 meter freestyle with 4:07:02 minutes.

Caitlin McClatchey's first major international appearance was the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . Over the 400 meter freestyle, she took ninth place there, with the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay she reached fifth place. At the 2005 World Swimming Championships in Montreal , McClatchey won the bronze medal in the 400-meter freestyle and was fourth in the 200-meter freestyle relay. At the World Short Course Championships in Manchester in 2008 , Caitlin McClatchey won two bronze medals in the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle relay and silver in the 200-meter freestyle relay.

Caitlin McClatchey took part in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and won gold in the 200 and 400 meter freestyle. With the 100-meter freestyle relay, she was sixth there. At the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006 , McClatchey won bronze over the 400 meter freestyle. In addition, she reached fourth place with the 200-meter freestyle relay, fifth with the 100-meter freestyle relay and ninth place over 200 meters. With the 200-meter freestyle relay she won silver at the European Swimming Championships in Eindhoven in 2008 and bronze at the 2009 World Championships in Rome.
