Beaches and bays in Mallorca

Caló d'en Rafalino is a small side bay of Cala Morlanda in the east of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the north-eastern part of the municipality of Manacor .

Location and description

Sandy beach (year 2009)

The rocky bay of en Rafalino forms the southwestern part of Cala Morlanda , a sea inlet south of the tourist resort S'Illot - Cala Morlanda . It ends in the southeast with Cape Punta Rasa . The hinterland, the area of sa Gruta , is hardly built on. Behind the beach on the west side of the bay are the ruins of a small, meanwhile half-collapsed building that is reminiscent of a boat shelter. Is named Caló d'en Rafalino of the few buildings of Can Rafalino on the road from the Cala Morlanda inland.

On the western side of Caló d'en Rafalino there is a beach about 20 meters long. In some years, such as in 2008, the sand surface above the waterline was washed away, in other years it was up to 15 meters wide. At a width of 5 meters up to the first bushes, rocks and smaller stones alternate on gently sloping terrain. The entrance to the sea is framed by low cliffs. The beach is only visited by a few bathers. It is also bathed naked .

Access

From the main road MA-4023 between Cala Millor and Porto Cristo , the road Camí de Cala Morlanda branches off at kilometer 2.8 eastwards towards the sea to the settlement of Cala Morlanda on the bay of the same name. From there, several paths lead to the south-west near the coast, on which one arrives at the bay of en Rafalino after about 400 meters .
