Beaches and bays in Mallorca

Cala Molins ('Mill Bay') is a small bay with a sandy beach in the north of the Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located on the northeast side of the town of Cala Sant Vicenç within the municipality of Pollença .

Location and description

Cala Molins beach

Cala Molins is located on the north coast of Mallorca, 14 kilometers west of the northernmost point of the island, the Cap de Formentor . With the neighboring bays of Cala Carbó , Cala Clara and Cala Barques , Cala Molins forms the larger sea inlet of Cala de Sant Vicenç between the Punta de Coves Blanques and the Morro de Bóquer . Cala Carbó is an eastern side bay of Cala Molins, while Cala Clara and Cala Barques to the west are separated from Cala Molins by the small peninsula El Maressar , which is also called Punta de sa Torre after a former watchtower . At the Cala Molins opens torrent Torrent de Can Botana , of the mountains of the Serra de la Font springs.

The shore of the sandy beach of Cala Molins is 40 meters long. It is framed by a rocky coast of low altitude. The width of the beach is up to 70 meters. Umbrellas are set up under which loungers can be rented out over almost the entire surface. The beach is cleaned daily during the season. There is a café on the west side with some tamarisk trees next to it . With the exception of the shore, a wall surrounds the beach that reaches street level. The road goes around the entire bay of Cala Molins. From the east and west there are beach access via stairs and ramps. There is a parking lot southwest behind the beach. Due to its internal location in the village of Cala Sant Vicenç, the beach is well attended. Strong waves often occur in northern winds.

Access

The road to Cala Sant Vicenç branches off the MA-2200 road between Pollença and Port de Pollença towards the north. After 3.1 kilometers you will reach the entrance to Cala Sant Vicenç. From there the distance to Cala Molins is about 1 kilometer. The beach is located on the east side of the El Maressar peninsula or Punta de sa Torre on the southwest side of the bay.
