Cala Nau ( Castilian Cala Nao ) is a small bay in the east of the Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the eastern part of the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar .
Location and description
The beach of Cala Nau belongs to the 1,800 meter long beach of Cala Millor and is the southern extension of the Platja de Sant Llorenç . The beaches of Platja de Sant Llorenç and Platja de Cala Nau merge at about the same level as Carrer de Borneo . The coastline swings east to the open sea and forms the natural Punta de n'Amer peninsula , a nature reserve. Despite daily cleaning of the beach, seaweed deposits can occur on the rocks of the peninsula to the southeast .
The promenade of the tourist town of Cala Millor, Passeig de la Mar , extends to Cala Nau . There are multi-storey hotel buildings behind the beach promenade. In the season, loungers and parasols are loaned out on the beach. From Cala Nau a hiking trail leads to the peninsula Punta de n'Amer to the local Castell from the 17th century.
Access
There are signposted parking spaces at the southern end of Cala Millor in the direction of Sa Coma .
