The Caldera del Atuel is a volcano in Argentina and is located immediately east of the Chilean border. The headwaters of the Rio del Atuel are located in the 30 × 45 kilometer caldera . On the extensive floor of the caldera there are 15 Dacite lava domes and 25 basaltic-andesitic cinder cones . The lava flows cover an area of 200 square kilometers. There are no backed up reports or data on previous outbreaks.
