Calen Carr (born October 4, 1982 in Oakland ) is a former American football player who was mostly used as a striker . He was most recently under contract with Houston Dynamo .

Career

Youth and amateur football

Carr graduated from the University of California, Berkeley . There he also played for the football team at his university. In 75 games he scored 22 goals and prepared another 15.

While in college, he also played two years in the Premier Development League for Orange County Blue Star .

Club career

Carr was selected as the tenth first-round pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by Chicago Fire on January 20, 2006 . His first goal in the MLS he scored on June 11, 2006 in the 90th minute to 3: 3 final against New England Revolution . After strong performances in the 2007 season, he injured himself in the 2008 season and was then out for a year.

On March 23, 2011 Carr was transferred to Houston Dynamo in exchange for Dominic Oduro . After Carlo Costly left , he was able to fight for a regular place there.

At the end of the 2013 season, he announced his retirement from professional sport.
