The Caleta Matamala ( Spanish ) is a bay in the northwest of Half Moon Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
Chilean scientists named it after Carlos Matamala Simmonds, helicopter pilot aboard the Piloto Pardo to rescue the aground ship Lindblad Explorer in Admiralty Bay in 1972.
