In 2004 they reached the last qualifying place for the playoffs. In the division semi-finals, they beat the San Jose Stealth in a tight game . After beating the Colorado Mammoth in the division final , they also won the Champion's Cup final against the Buffalo Bandits.
In the 2005 season , the Roughnecks played a very good regular season and took first place in the Western Division and were thus automatically qualified for the division finals. But there they lost to the Arizona Sting .
Also in the 2006 season , the team retired early when they failed to score against the Colorado Mammoth.
