successes
The team was able to move into the final of the playoffs in their first season in the MILL , where they were only barely subject to the Philadelphia Wings . In 1997 they won their first championship title and the last of the MILL. The following year the NLL started its first season.
In 1999 and 2000 the Knighthawks moved back into the finals, but the Champion's Cup , which has been awarded as a championship trophy since 1998, they could not win.
Their fifth participation in the final saw the team in 2003. After they had finished the regular season for the first time as the best team, they moved to the final against the Toronto Rock , but lost there with 6-8.
The Rochester Knighthawks never missed the playoffs and were able to qualify for the finals for the 13th time in a row in 2007. That is a record in MILL / NLL history. They also won the Champion's Cup for the first time that year after beating the Arizona Sting in the final.
After beating The Edmonton Rush 9-6 in the final in 2012 and successfully defending that title the next season with an 11-10 win over the Washington Stealth, they were first in 2014 with a 3-2 mini-game win over the Calgary Roughnecks NLL team a "three peat", ie winning three consecutive titles.
