Caloi
Caloi (actually Carlos Loiseau ; born November 9, 1948 in Salta ; † May 8, 2012 in Adrogué, Buenos Aires ) was an Argentinian comic artist and cartoonist .
Caloi worked for Tía Vicenta in 1966 and had been a freelance comic artist and caricaturist since 1967. He became known in 1973 with his character Clemente . He was the presenter of the TV cycle "Caloi en su tinta" on Channel 7. He was the creator of the characters La Mulatona , Mimí , Alexis , Bartolo , el Clementosaurio , el hincha de Camerun .
The background of his work was the examination of existential problems of people and the artistic implementation of the themes of hunger, class differences, abandonment, lack of education, problems with children, etc.
He has received several awards, including the Martín Fierro Media Prize in 2003 and the Honorary Citizenship of Buenos Aires in 2009.
