In 1923 the judicial district of Mautern was closed, the municipalities were added to the judicial district of Krems an der Donau.

In 1992 the judicial districts Spitz (communities Spitz , Aggsbach , Maria Laach am Jauerling and Mühldorf ) and Gföhl (communities Gföhl , Jaidhof , Krumau am Kamp , Lichtenau im Waldviertel , Rastenfeld and St. Leonhard am Hornerwald ) were closed, the communities became the judicial district Krems struck on the Danube.

On July 1, 2002, the judicial district of Langenlois was dissolved and the communities of Etsdorf-Haitzendorf (since 2003 Grafenegg), Hadersdorf-Kammern , Langenlois , Lengenfeld , Schönberg am Kamp and Straß im Straßertale were added to the judicial district of Krems an der Donau.
