history

The judicial district of Ybbs already existed in 1910, but probably not in its current form. The district of Pöggstall existed from 1899 to 1938 and comprised a large part of the municipalities that are now in the judicial district of Ybbs.

Only with a further reform after 1960 was the judicial district of Melk divided into the judicial districts of Melk, Ybbs and Mank, of which the latter was dissolved on July 1, 2002 and added to the judicial district of Melk.

On January 1, 2014, the Ybbs judicial district was dissolved and the municipalities were assigned to the Melk judicial district.
