Calpurnius Piso

Calpurnius Piso was a branch of the Calpurnian family in the Roman Empire .

The family gained special importance in the period between the Hannibal Wars and the early imperial era . The Cognomen Piso was derived from pisere, pinsere ( mash , crush).
