Calpurnius

Calpurnius was the gentile name (nomen gentile) of the Roman family of the Calpurnii (gens Calpurnia) . The plebeian family has appeared since the First Punic War; she appointed the first consul in 180 BC. The most important branch of the family were the Calpurnii Pisones.
