Camabatela (also Kamabatela ) is a small town in northern Angola .
history
The village of Camabatela was founded in 1611 during the expansion of Portuguese rule into the interior of the Portuguese colony of Angola. In 1934 Camabatela was elevated to a small town ( Vila ).

Camabatela is the seat of the municipality (Comuna) and the district ( Município ) Ambaca in the province of Cuanza Norte . Previously the municipality of Ambaca was named after the city of Camabatela.
