Anastácio Cahango

Anastácio Cahango OFMCap (born June 3, 1937 in Camabatela , Ambaca County ) is an Angolan clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Luanda .

Life

Anastácio Cahango joined the religious order of the Capuchins and was ordained a priest on July 3, 1977 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Luanda and titular bishop of Thignica on January 17, 1998 . The Archbishop of Luanda, Alexandre Cardinal do Nascimento , donated him episcopal ordination on May 3rd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Aldo Cavalli , Apostolic Nuncio in São Tomé and Príncipe and Angola , and Pedro Luís Guido Scarpa OFMCap, Bishop of Ndalatando .

On October 26, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
