The Cameron River is a 17 km long river on the South Island in New Zealand . It rises southeast of the slopes of Mount Arrowsmith in the Southern Alps and reaches Lake Stream just north of Lake Heron . The longer Ashburton River flows, about three km southwest of the Cameron River, part of its distance roughly parallel to it.
