Camilla Dalberg

Camilla Dalberg , also Camille Dalberg , ( June 28, 1870 in Leipzig - February 1968 in the Bronx , New York ) was a German-American theater and silent film actress and screenwriter .

Life

Dalberg enjoyed her first artistic lessons in her hometown and was also engaged there for a short time. Then she came to the United Theaters of Elberfeld and Barmen and from there directly to the Court Theater in Hanover .

There she represented the subject of the cheerful lover as well as that of the salon lady . Her sphere of activity was primarily in modern drama. In Die Stumme von Portici , she successfully demonstrated how rich her talent for mimicry and the tragic was , which interesting task she solved to everyone's satisfaction.

Dalberg, whose aforementioned artistic qualities were beneficially supported by an elegant figure and skillful play, was a pronounced talent, which also found unanimous recognition in Petersburg in 1899, occasionally a guest performance. The grace of their appearance, the delicacy of their movements, the sound of their language and their art of characterization were recognized on their guest appearances. How long she stayed in Hanover is unclear, in fact she reappears in the USA as a silent film actress and screenwriter in 1911. Her career seems to end in 1920; her whereabouts until her death are unknown.

She was married to the actor Charles Kraus (1865–1931).
