Camilla North (* 1984 as Camilla Norderud in Fyllingsdalen , Bergen ) is a Norwegian singer , songwriter and model .

Career

Camilla North spent her childhood in the city of her birth. After graduating from secondary school, she first attended a secondary school in Langhaugen and then began studying music at Bath Spa University . There she obtained a bachelor's degree in music and graduated in 2008 with a master's degree in songwriting. After returning to Bergen she earned her doctorate at the local Grieg Academy ( Griegakademiet , formerly Bergen Music Conservatory ).

Camilla North took part in the English Live & Unsigned Competition in 2008 and finished 8th out of around 40,000 participants. In the same year she won the Battle of the Vox in Great Britain and a year later the Norwegian Songwriting Competition iLod . In 2016, Camilla North was awarded the City of Bergen's Kulturgründer Prize for her work as a singer and songwriter .

North performed on radio stations in Norway as well as with some well-known DJs in Germany and the Netherlands. Shortly thereafter, she released her single Still Alive , which was followed in 2016 by the songs Just Breathe , Unloveable and Notice Me , some of which were also played on some Norwegian radio stations. Furthermore, she gained some stage experience and so far has performed in Bergen, Norway and Oslo as well as in Great Britain. The song DejaVù , which was recorded by the girl group F (x), reached number 1 on the World Billboard Album Charts. North has been running her own music school since 2016 and is working on new music projects. She prepared for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 , and took part in the San-Marinese preliminary round 1 in 360 . North made it to the final of the competition on March 3, 2018 in Bratislava with her song Yo no soy tu chica , but only achieved 5th place.
