Camille (singer)
Camille (born March 10, 1978 in Paris ), whose real name is Camille Dalmais , is a French musician. Stylistically, it is assigned to the Nouvelle Chanson .
life and work
Camille was studying at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris when she released her first album Le Sac des filles in 2002 . In 2005 she was awarded the Prix Constantin for her second album Le Fil . For this album she received a gold record from the Syndicat national de l'édition phonographique for more than 100,000 copies sold. In the meantime it has also received a double platinum record, almost 500,000 copies have been sold.
As a musician, Camille was also active in other band projects, including the French band Nouvelle Vague . She worked on the soundtrack of the animated film Ratatouille .
In 2007 Camille wrote the music for Hou Hsiao-Hsien's film Le Voyage du ballon rouge , a homage to Albert Lamorisse's short film The Red Ballon .
In the summer of 2008, the piece Senza from her album Le Fil was used as the background melody in the commercial for the launch of the Ford Kuga .
Camille has two children with her partner, the musician and arranger Clément Ducol . Their son was born in November 2010 and their daughter in 2013.
