Camille Bright-Smith

Camille Bright-Smith is an American songwriter from Long Beach , California .

Life

Camille Bright-Smith studied music in Long Beach, but dropped out shortly before the end because she had fallen out with her professors about her music style, way of life and political views. She shifted her focus from classical music to rock and worked on local projects such as Gush and The Bright Projects as a singer, keyboardist and guitarist.

She now lists Patti Smith , PJ Harvey , Radiohead , Joni Mitchell , Tori Amos and Air as influencers.

In 2008 her solo album The Great Divide, recorded in the studios of Travis Dickerson , was released . In addition to her husband and Travis and his brother Lindy, the Thanatopsis drummer Ramy Antoun, Tony Brock ( The Babies ) and Dustin Boyer (including guitarist for Jennifer Love Hewitt ) also worked on the album. Even before the release of The Great Divide , she was working on the sequel More Sex, Less Violence . She is organized in the National Organization for Women and headed the local chapter in Long Beach.

Camille Bright-Smith is married to the musician John Bright and has two children (twins) with him. She is related by marriage to the women's rights activist Susie Bright through her husband .
